City Life by Gerald Nikolai Smith

Sand makes stone,

Makes concrete, makes

Glass, makes a world,

An anthill, short &

Intense with

Homeless buildings,

Simple & rough

Hundreds within

Without. City left with

nothing but elephant colors,

Wet as dog, sweet as asphalt

Warm as tummy rumbles,

Yellow as a laugh. Umami

As the end of a really

Good day. Dark as the gospel

of rain on concrete.
