Hysteria Writing Competition June Update
Thank you for opening this email and being part of my amazing community and for getting involved with the Hysteria Writing Competition. Hopefully, you’re planning to enter your latest masterpiece and win the much bigger prizes I have in store this year.
I’m going to be completely honest and let you know that so far there have been just 27 entries for this year’s Hysteria Writing Competition. That means that, in theory at least, everyone who has entered so far will be published. That’s great for them in one sense, but there will always be that nagging doubt because they will have been published by default.
I’m not sure why the entry numbers are so low, perhaps it’s the constant media hype that there’s a problem with….. well I’ll let you fill in the blank with your favourite reason du jour.
What it does mean though is that I will have to seriously consider closing the competition early and refunding everyone who has entered thus far. I’m not going to do that, yet! but it is something I do need to consider.
As a reminder… each of the overall category winners will receive a £300 cash prize and publication in the Hysteria 9 anthology. A further 9 finalists in each category will also win publication in the anthology and a free copy when it’s published.
It costs £3 to enter and the theme this year is Peace. Over the next few months the must read quote in my monthly newsletters will focus on the theme, hopefully providing a little inspiration along the way.
So get your quills, pens and keyboards on standby and submit your entry as soon as possible. My amazing team of readers is ready and waiting to read everything that comes along.
